Grief

They don't talk to you about...
  • Being triggered every time you hear the word cancer

  • How life goes on and it doesn't stop

  • How you have to readjust and go on like that person was never there

  • How they won't be at your wedding, key life events etc

  • How you envy mother and daughter relationships

  • How you become hypochondriac

  • How you become hyper sensitive

  • How nobody gets it until they go through it

  • How some days you might smile but deep down you're hurting

  • How you find the courage to get out of bed

  • How your body locks pain

  • How the smallest things trigger you

  • How sometimes it hurts to speak

  • How you have to become your own safety net

  • How you have an excessive need for love & care

  • How you're constantly in a state of shock

  • How you become super paranoid

  • How you begin to build up resentment

  • How you enjoy dark humour

  • How it's important to find coping mechanisms or you'll drown

  • How you have to sit in a pool of your emotions and let the wave pass

  • How the pain is permanent and the person is never coming back

  • How heavy it is on your heart

  • How the generic sayings don't help

You begin to realise...
  • How pets/animals bring you peace & comfort

  • How memories give you hope

  • How you find a deeper meaning to life

  • How your purpose has changed

  • How you become super close to your siblings

  • How you're grateful to be alive
